This is a poem about the battle between two parts of me inside. The wolf and me. Its about the two parts coming together, to be the true me. The wolf is everything I hide from the world, just under the surface.

There’s a wolf beneath my skin,
not cruel, but carved from bone and sin.
It waits in shadows, breath held tight,
a whisper in the dead of night.
It knows the path I fear to tread,
the hunger I have left unfed.
Its howl is not of rage but need
a wildness I was born to heed.
It stalks the lies I tell by day,
then bares its truth and won’t obey.
Not beast, not curse, but something true,
the part of me I always knew.
I am not tame, not built to hide
there’s power in the wolf inside.
